Mohit Malhotra, who started off his career as a reality show participant, later bagged a promising role in Sony TV’s Bade Acche Lagte Hain, an Ekta Kapoor venture. But his part didn’t turn out to be very good and he parted ways with the show.
However, Ekta offered him the lead role in another of her show on Sony, Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada. Mohit made his entry in the show post the generation leap and is currently seen playing the lead opposite Sargun Mehta aka Bulbul. And now he has bagged a plump offer as he will be seen hosting Star Plus’ big ticket reality show, India’s Dancing Superstar (Trompe L’oeil Productions).
It has been heard that when Mohit signed the reality show, he had made up his mind to quit the daily. The makers were even looking for a replacement for him, but with Sony announcing about the show’s sudden closure, makers have asked Mohit to stay back. He has been asked to shoot for a day or two for the daily and rest of the days he can keep for his reality show. Show makers want to reach to a logical conclusion and for the same they want Mohit to adjust his work timings a bit.
So far Mohit has agreed to it and this way he will be balancing his daily show and the reality show, which he will co-host with Aishwarya Sakhuja. Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada’s dipping TRPs, and the viral MMS scandal involving Mona Singh is said to be the reason for the sudden closure of this Balaji Telefilms’ show. Kyaa Hua is slated to end in May (2013), and will make way for Contiloe Telefilms’ big-ticket show Maharana Pratap.
Hope Mohit does well as an anchor!
