Channel [V]’s Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year, produced by 4 Lions Films and Fable Tree Pictures had recently got in Mrinalini Tyagi, to play parallel lead in the show. Mrinalini, as known is currently seen playing Teju in Balaji Telefilms’ Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV.
And in Suvreen Guggal she had to play the role of Suvreen’s (Smriti Kalra) best friend Tanu Ahuja. Mrinalini had given her look as well as mock tests and was all set to sign her contract when things went wrong. It has been heard that Mrinalini is under an exclusive contract with Balaji Telefilms and has given them 25 days for Pavitra Rishta. She was needed for nearly 20 days in Suvreen Guggal.
Sources say that Balaji Telefilms didn’t use Mrinalini’s dates for the past 4-5 months. She was only shooting for 12-13 days for Pavitra Rishta. Owing to this Mrinalini made up her mind to take up something productive and this is when she was offered Suvreen Guggal.
Sadly, she couldn’t sign on the dotted lines as Balaji didn’t let her sign the show. Though the actress tried all possible ways of reaching to an amicable solution but all went in vain! On being contacted, Mrinalini Tyagi confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I was finalized for the parallel lead’s role in Suvreen Guggal. I was also on the verge of signing the contract, but date issues stopped me from taking the project. It is a big disappointment for me, is all that I can say at the moment.”
