Pallavi Purohit, better known as Padmani aka Madhubala’s mother
in Colors’ Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Nautanki Telefilms), decided
on playing a mother to an actress of her own age and looks likes this
choice of hers has finally paid off well. The actress won the Best
Actress in a Supporting Role Award (Popular) at The Twelfth Indian Telly
Awards.
When we contacted Pallavi, she said, “I am really happy to achieve an award at the Tellys though I wasn’t expecting one. In fact, my co-actors kept telling me that I deserved it but I did not take them seriously. Now I know that they were right.”
“Since this is my first award, I’d like to thank my casting director, who thought I could portray Padmini’s role, and the entire team of Madhubala. The show is a very different one as our producer Saurabh Tiwari (Nautanki Telefilms) always believed in larger-than-life canvas and that’s how it is,” she concludes.
Keep rocking, Pallavi!
Catch Twelfth Indian Telly Awards only on Colors at 9pm on 25 May (2013).
