Mohit, who debuted in town with Miley Jab Hum Tum, was last seen in the dud Star Plus’ Khamoshiyan. The boyfriend of actress Sanaya Irani is said to have turned down the offer from senior producer Rajan Shahi to essay the lead role in Life OK’s Amrit Manthan which later was bagged by Angad Hasija.
It has been already updated that Angad is entering the project as Navi Bhangu’s replacement. Speaking about Mohit being offered the show, sources say that the actor had his share of reservations while taking up Amrit Manthan. He every well knew that the ratings of the show are not very good and it is on the verge of going off air. Thus, he didn’t wish to take any chance.
However, Rajan Shahi about the same said, “No, I've not spoken to Mohit and Angad was the only choice from day one, so there is no question of anyone refusing. Mohit is a good actor with a star persona and I know him well. I will call him directly if there is something. Anyways, Mohit will not suit the character we have in mind for AM (Amrit Manthan).”
When Mohit was asked his side of story, he stated, “I was indeed approached for Amrit Manthan but did not do it for I want to be a part of a new show with fresh characters.”
Wonder if this was a gain for Angad or a loss for Mohit!
