Moving a bit away from the daily soaps, today we talk about Reality shows that entertained us in a big way.
Such shows always come in as a welcome change for TV viewers as they get to watch the real side of their favourite artistes and also some very talented people from the television industry on their TV sets. In view of their individual popularity, the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards have nominated a few reality shows under ‘Reality Shows’ category.
The nominees have been mentioned below…
Going alphabetically, Colors’ Bigg Boss Season – 6 (Endemol India) stands first in our list. This Alag Che! season was truly entertaining with a fish, parrot and the three monkeys in the house. The makers also created another house that was called the mud house this season. This, in turn, kept the surprise element alive. This was also the first time when a divorced couple (Rajeev Paul/Delnaaz Irani) was seen under one roof. And importantly, this season had the very ‘alag’ Imam Siddique. So this reality show was truly entertaining with Salman Khan hosting it yet again.
Next we have Colors’ India's Got Talent Season 4 (Fremantlemedia India).
This reality show has its own brand value and it does not really need a face being the only show that lets you showcase whatever talent you have. But, Malika Arora Khan, Karan Johar and Kirron Kher did add to the glamour quotient as judges. So, on the whole, the fourth season of this show was extremely entertaining.
The youth of our country can beg, borrow and steal to be on MTV Hero Roadies 9 (Colosseum). This reality show, which makes the young contestants complete certain tasks to reach the finale, is immensely popular amongst the youth.
Like OK’s Welcome - Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki (Meditech) was all about inviting your co-contestants for dinner. However, somehow this show turned out to be very controversial with all the screaming, shouting and back biting. But, then since it was entertaining, it’s on our list.
