Trishula Production's eerie drama Anamika aired on Sony Entertainment Television is trying hard to grab larger eyeballs and earn good numbers on the TRP meter.
As seen currently, the witch Anamika (Simran Kaur) has completely taken over Rano’s (Annie Gill) body and the poor girl possessed by the spirit is not able to explain the same things to her family members. Everyone in the house including Jeet (Mudit Nayar) feel that Rano is suffering from mental illness and hallucinates.
In order to make the track more gripping, it has been heard that makers are planning to introduce a new character which will be played by TV actress Papiya Sengupta. Last seen in Zee TV's Fear Files, Papiya will play the role of an Occult who will enter the show to help Rano. Rano who is trying to fight against the evil powers of Anamika will be helped by Papiya Sengupta's character.
Actress Usha Bachani was also in race for the show however, it eventually went into the kitty of Papiya. The role is very similar to Rati Agnihotri's role from Bollywood film Krishna Cottage. On being contacted, Papiya said, "Yes, I am doing the show but I can't comment anything on it. All I can say is that it's a cameo role."
