I was attached to the show as I had put in a lot of effort in it, says Piyali Munshi!

It has come as a big blow to actress Piyali Munshi, who made her debut in the Hindi Television industry with Colors’ Jai Jag Janani Maa Durga (Sagar Arts). Sadly the show is to go off air on April 5, 2013 owing to poor ratings.

Piyali, who has been shooting for the show in Baroda since October 2012, was all shocked after hearing about the show’s early closure. She said, “I was attached to the show as I had put in a lot of effort in it. All this while I had been staying in Baroda hence; I could not even meet my family. Apart from that, I gave up on non-vegetarian food in spite of being a strict non-vegetarian. So, it was difficult to believe that the show was going off-air so early but you can’t do much against the channel’s decision.”

On being quizzed as to what made her give up on her favorite cuisine, she shared, “I am a Bengali and for us, Maa Durga means a lot. So, when I was playing her on-screen, I wanted to get into the skin of the character. Hence, I stopped having non-veg.”

The show will see its last telecast on 5 April; and Piyali has completed shooting her part. Speaking about the last day on sets, she said, “It was a very emotional day but at the same time there was a lot happening. My last sequence was an action packed drama plus I had to pack my things the same day to leave for Mumbai. Hence, I did not get enough time to think.”

She is a famous name in Bengali show and when asked if she will stay back in the Hindi TV industry, the actress shared, “I am planning to stay back in Mumbai for a while. I might also take up another Hindi show.”

Wish you good luck for the same!
