And one such vamp cherishing the success is actress Preet Mullani, who is quite happy with the kind of response her character is getting in Zee TV’s hit show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (Shakuntalam Telefilms). Speaking of it, she says, “Sangeeta is very realistic. One of the best things about this Shakuntalam Telefilms show is that it has given me recognition. Earlier, I have done shows but thanks to this number one show, people now know me as Sangeeta. I have been around for five years playing varied characters in shows such as Shaurya Suhani and Shakuntala among others, but this is something which I have never tried before. Every average housewife easily relates to my character. Most women are not bad; it is situations that make one act in a particular manner. However, they are always labeled as someone who does lot of bitching.”
She added, “Sapne Suhane is a good start towards that goal and I am sure that something bigger and better is waiting for me out there. All said and done, I have no regrets for I feel that I have already created my own space in my own limited manner.”
Having done shows like Bidaai, Jiya Jale and Main Kab Saas Banoongi, for Preet her stint with YRF’s Kismat stands to be one of her best till date. “There I had a parallel track along with Rahul Bagga who was essaying Nawab Kabir Mubarak Khan. Working with India’s premiere production house is itself a major achievement. They shoot like a film,” she said.
Speaking on the atmosphere on the sets of Sapne Suhane, she shared, “There is great bonding not only among all the co- stars but also with the unit hands. Sangeeta is never seen alone; she is always seen with Seema Pandey who plays Savitri. People often ask ‘are you as close in real life as well for you look like sisters’. I share the closest equation with her”.
Keep going Preet!
