Shivani Surve to play the new lead in Anamika!
Actress Shivani Surve recently made into the headlines owing to her abrupt exit from popular Marathi daily Devyani. And while her Marathi fans are still pondering over her ouster, it is to hear that Shivani has bagged a meaty role in Sony Entertainment Television's Anamika.

It was earlier updated that the eerie tale of Anamika is heading for a revamp wherein the current female lead, Rano (Annie Gill) will die. The recent episode of the daily made one to witness how Rano has set out to destroy the witch Anamika (Simran Kaur) in order to save her husband Jeet (Mudit Nayyar). However, she will lose her life in the battle and this will mark the entry of a new female lead to be played by Shivani.

Shivani in the past has done shows like Phulwa, Navya and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. In Anamika she will play the role of a bubbly Punjabi girl, Chavvi Gupta. She is the sole caretaker of her house and younger sister as her parents died when she was very young. Chavvi will be seen as an employee at Jeet Saluja's office. Soon she will experience a big change in her life when she will fall in love with Jeet. Shivani started shooting for the show on 5 May 2013 and her entry is said to be aired in Wednesday's (8 May 2013) episode.

On being contacted, Shivani said, "Yes, I am doing the show and it's a very interesting role. But I can't comment anything on the role."

Wish you good luck Shivani!
