Bigg Boss contestant contract revealed! Why Karishma Tanna, Sunny Leone and Gauahar Khan entered the crappy show
Ever wondered why wannabe stars and starlets agree to be a part of crappy reality show Bigg Boss that basically adds nothing to your TV viewing experience? Hell no, it is not because of the superstar host Salman Khan – he was not even the host for the first three seasons – but the story runs much deeper. It is the money that attracts them, of course, and the money that keeps them locked in there for months – tolerating whatever sh*t comes their way and reacting only when it gets too much.
The media has always speculated and reported on fees of the Bigg Boss contestants, whether it’s Sunny Leone, Rahul Roy, Raja Chaudhary, Shweta Tiwari or Navjyot Singh Sidhu. And now, entertainment portal BollywoodLife.com has got hold of the Bigg Boss contract for contestants, which mentions the fee of the some of the contestants as high as Rs 8 lakh for a week!
But of course, the fee for ‘acting’ on the show has increased over the years, and it is not the same for every contestant.
So why does the channel running Bigg Boss and the producers not rope in bigger celebs or rather more known faces than are normally seen on the show? Obviously because the wannabes and the has-beens come cheaper, or rather, cheap!
Plus, the fee of host Salman Khan always sees a rising graph, so the budget of Colors will go haywire if they hire ‘stars’ who don’t agree to their fee. Also, the original format of these reality shows, likeCelebrity Big Brother – of which Shilpa Shetty was a part of – also has maximum contestants who are good-for-nothings.
Of course, there are exceptions to these – famous names like Hollywood’s sex symbol Pamela Anderson, and Indian stars Shweta Tiwari and Tanishaa Mukherjee who got paid much more – with Pam’s fee running up to Rs 2.5 crore for a three-day appearance!
